BUSINESS SIMULATION GAMES
Business simluation games are an excellent way for kids to learn basic business principles at an early age. For better or for worse, many lower, middle, and high school academic programs do not put a strong emphasis on the importance of education from a business perspecitve. Kids are taught to analyze, think critically, crunch numbers, and consider history, but they are not always taught how to apply this knowledge to real worldf business situations. And as any adult will tell you, everyone has some business decisions they make over the course of their lives, no matter what path they walk.
Simluation games are powerful instructional tools because they draw kids into the games while forcing them to learn and think in order to succeed and progress through the gameplay. Before they are even aware of the new knowledge they have, kids are comfortable with the importance of ideas like supply, demand, percents, and interest. Of course, developing a working knowledge of these business ideas gives kids more time and opportunity for these ideas to mature as they grow.
